[It's been over a month now since he first arrived. Luceti isn't any homelier now than it was then. Only now he's getting restless from being stuck here so long. Pretending to ride a bike cross country in the Dome ain't exactly satisfying when it keeps stopping in one hour intervals. So maybe it's time to look beyond the enclosure. Here he goes with the journal.]

I keep hearing about these missions people are going on. I've read the advertising too. Besides being a cure for boredom, do people have a good reason for doing their dirty work? Because frankly, I'm getting a little bored myself. But playing toadie to cash in for prizes ain't exactly the way I do things.

[Good enough. He'll stick around to answer that for awhile, then head to the Rec Center. He doesn't like it when its crowded with teenagers, but when he's lucky, he can play a game of pool by himself. After some time there, he'll be running a Danger Room scenario for himself in the Battle Dome. Lots of explosions and slashing. It's really cool, okay. After some time back home checking out some of Kurt's old movies and TV shows (at least the kid had some taste), he'll make his evening at Good Spirits. He'll take them by the bottle, bartenders. He don't even need you to remove the lids for him. That's what adamantium claws are for. Just another day in the life of the Wolverine.]

So how'd the floors treat you?

[Those were new. And random.]

[Rogue groaned.]

Why yes, since you're wonderin' - you still suck.

[The floors did her in. AGAIN.]

Maybe next time.

[Randomizing it is just cruel. It was too easy when the floors changes on a specific pattern. Life was too unpredictable for patterns.]

[She huffed.]

Maybe next time I'll see if I can steal one of Robin's grapplin' hooks.

[Her rear end is STILL SORE from that fall.]

Robin?

[A curious glance. He's no comic book fan and he doesn't remember the name of that annoying kid from his first day.]

Batman's sidekick.

[She takes a swig from her soda.]

But don't call 'im that. Apparently they had a falling out.

[See how much she cares?]

He likes ta stalk the house sometimes.

[But now that Wolverine was here... maybe the scent detector would put him off.]

[At least he knows the name Batman. And he KNOWS that kid has been skulking around. He could smell him.]

The masked kid. I've been meaning to have a word with him about that.

Yeah. He means well.

[She barely managed to keep off an 'I think.']

We had a teammate of his live with us for a while.

That right? He planning to move in himself?

[Because Logan won't go for that.]

[Snort.]

[That's a "hell no," but X-Men is a kid's show.]

Good. [Glad they're on the same page.] So who was this friend of his?

Beast Boy. Green. Vegetarian. Turned into every known kind of animal.

[She takes another sip.]

He was funny, though.

[I touched him.]

Annoying.

[Like Kitty and Kurt rolled up together, with a side of Bobby. Talk about a pain.]

There any kind of pattern to your roommates? [Mia? And that guy? Not exactly seeing a similarity.]

Is there any kinda pattern to when the floor decides to open up and swallow me?

[Nice try.] When you get sloppy.

Please.

[...no, she gets sloppy sometimes. She gets angry and she loses it and she just wants to go in and bust something up. All the same, she tilts her Pepsi towards him in accusation.]

When you get sadistic.

Trust me, stripes. You ain't seen me come close to being sadistic yet.

[He raises his bottle just a bit higher before finishing the rest of it.]

[Yes I have.

And she gulps a little, because no one really wants Wolverine alluding to being sadistic.]

Small mercies.

[She moved to cradle the Pepsi in her hand. She didn't really feel the need to fill up the air with conversation. There was just something good and solid about being next to him, both of them themselves.

And it was pleasantly distracting from any other issue.]

[That's why he liked Rogue. One of the reasons, anyway. There wasn't a need to talk just for the sake of talking. The other kids were fine, sure. Even if Kurt and Kitty couldn't quite be happy with silence.

But Rogue was good at stewing. Logan could always use a good silent stewing.

So a good amount of silence will pass before he even speaks up again.]

You still play pool?

[She just works on savoring her Pepsi, and the relative normalcy and safety of this moment. The psyches are a constant buzz in the back of her mind, but if she wraps it up with the solidness of Logan's presence, than that is all they remain.]

It's somethin' ta do.

[Heck yeah, I kick ass.]

Looks like there's not a lot of competition here.

[Or maybe nobody wanted to play with him. Also possible.]

Lookin' to line up a game?

Maybe. You in?

Sure. [Easy agreement.] Better than starin' at paint for the rest of the night.

[Or talking about that last experiment.]

Yeah. That's been getting old.

[Still. Not as bad as resorting to some of the elf's DVD collection. Why did he want Gilligan's Island of all things?]
