2 - [Action/Voice]
[Like any other morning, Logan had his usual morning coffee. Rogue was around, he saw Mia, and eventually it became obvious Kitty wasn't making an appearance. Taking it on himself to take a look in, he pushed her door open, only to find the room empty. It meant Kitty was gone. The fact he couldn't pick up on any recent scent leaving her room overnight made it even more convincing. She was going back to a warzone. One he wasn't sure she'd be waking up from. Nobody else in Luceti knew that. No one except Rogue, anyway. That wasn't going to be a happy reveal.
After it's been done, he opens the journal. Briefly.]
Kitty Pryde's gone. She's been sent back home. Hopefully the Malnosso know what they're doing in transit.
[That's all he's got to say. He probably won't respond unless someone has something interesting to say.
Later he's in the Battle Dome. If you want to watch someone pushing themselves to the limit and being an absolute badass in a simulation, then you need only watch basically half of Luceti's population at any given time. But if you want to watch a short hairy man do it with metal claws coming out of his wrists, then Wolverine will be doing just that in a Danger Room scenario filled with mechanical claws, guns, lasers, rotating walls, and so on. It's very hardcore. Very.
He'll be found in the plaza later, sitting on a bench, and taking in the scents. Unfortunately, one of the scents cause him to sneeze. Was it your perfume? Some pollen? Your foul stench? Whatever it was, Logan looks unhappy. (But that's okay because he's always unhappy.)]

But Rogue just nods and heads towards the opened doors.
She's far more subdued than usual.]
[ action ]
It's a familiar setting. Rotating walls, grinding electric saws, lasers, and the works. This is the kind of scenario Wolverine will use for himself.]
[ action ]
A straight run through?
[ action ]
[This smirk? It's offering her a challenge.]
[ action ]
Ya racin' me or timin' me?
[ action ]
[ action ]
Her eyes narrow a touch.]
Guess I'll hafta earn it, then.
[And she took off. For those keeping score from home, there was a definite increase of speed. She handles the first obstacle - a rotating floor - with a forward flip to carry her over it and land on the next patch of floor.]
[ action ]
However, she's doing good so far. Let's see how well she dodges these lasers.]
[ action ]
[ action ]
The buzz saws should be a challenge, though. She's headed right into a collapsing floor, while the saws close in on her from either side. It will take a combination of speed and ingenuity to make it to the other side.]
[ action ]
But pure physical pain? That kind of release is almost welcome in reaction to her strict control on regular days, let alone days when her heart is hurting this much.
So when the floor starts to collapse underneath her, Rogue pours on the speed to make a jump - and land on the flat end of one of the blades, sideways, for an instant - she then springs off to hand-stand-flip off of the opposite blade and lands - hard, unfortunately, that is not a ten point landing - just on the edge of the regular floor. She quickly moves into a crouch to recover her balance for a moment, taking in the next move.]
[ action ]
Up next, the floor began to rise into increasingly narrower steps, while large metal tentacles started to try and seize her. Normally Logan would take care of those with his claws, but seeing as Rogue had lacked those, he did the run himself without resorting to them. So it was possible, but this would be a very easy place to be knocked down. Hell, even he got knocked off on his first attempt.]
[ action ]
Oomph.
[Which would have knocked her clear off - except she wrapped her arms around it. Which meant that its next move knocked her back into the wall. She grit her teeth, embracing the pain and clinging on - her perseverance was rewarded when the tentacle rotated the other way, towards the opposite end of the stairs. She curled up around it in order to keep one of the other tentacles from grabbing on to a leg and tearing her apart - this would never work if it was a Sentinal grabbing her. But it was just an obstacle course.
So she could slip of the tentacle, angled at the flat edge at the end of the stair.
She lands in a pained heap. Booyah?]
[ action ]
Even though this is where the stairs start collapsing and the tentacles start shooting lasers. Because kid, this is Wolverine. And there is no such thing as getting to the end. It's survival until the simulation shuts down or it runs out of things to attack with.]
[ action ]
Time to make like a bouncing ball, dodge, cling, roll, jump from tentacle to tentacle - this won't last long.
Why? Because it's just mean.
But that's okay, she's gonna try anyway.]
[ action ]
One... two... three...]
[ action ]
That pisses her off.
Rogue lets out a shout and turns around to attempt to use the tentacles to find a way down - she'd jump clear of the crumbling staircase, but her bones aren't adamantium. If she falls off a story, she's not getting back up.
Sadly, this results in getting first caught, then zapped by a lazer.
Hey, she made it to eight.]
[ action ]
Nice moves. I doubt even Elf would last that long.
[ action ]
[Two years in this place can make a lot of changes. She starts to force herself up, but she's pretty badly bruised so she's not quite on her feet by the time he gets there.
And yes, she's still pissed.]
[ action ]
Maybe. Too bad I missed him.
[ action ]
You're just lucky it took me out.
[She set her hand on her knee and eased herself up and into place.]
[ action ]
The session's about survival, not winning. Either it ended or you did.
[ action ]
[Which... makes it clear why she was trying to get back to him.]
[ action ]
[As far as he's concerned, the best kind of test is the nearly impossible. A test that you win only means you're better than a certain level. It does nothing to measure what your best looks like.]
If you want another shot, take it. [Which is an invitation to zap him. It may improve her chances, but not by a whole lot.]
[ action ]
No point.
[She turned off to the side.]
Can't rely on someone else's strength ta get me through.
[You could disappear at any minute, after all.]
