[She shakes her head simply.]

That was not you, so it does not count.

It was my body, 'Ro. That counts enough.

[He'll make allowances for some things when you lose control. But he shouldn't have lost control on her. Not when he could still think.]

You were under the influence of something you could not control. [Finally she comes forward to sit next to him on the porch, a respectable distance between them, cup of tea still in her hands.] None of us could have predicted or prepared for anything like it. It was not your fault.

[He lets out a growl of frustration. He's not angry. But he's trying to apologize, in his own non-apologetic way. She's not making it easy.]

Look, Ororo. For me, it counts. Understand?

[calmbeforethe]

[Well, what else could she say to that? She glances at him curiously at that growl, before looking back to her tea.]

Whatever the case, it's in the past now. We are here, alive and well, are we not? It's all right.

[She takes a sip.]

... Of course, I would rather not go through it again if we can help it. I know it wasn't pleasant to have a few thousand volts of electricity coursing through your skeleton. [She gives him an apologetic smile; there, see. he can have an apology right back!]

It ain't the first time it's happened to me.

[A snort as he spares a glance at her.]

Thanks for that. You put me down before I could do some real damage.

[calmbeforethe]

[She'd hesitated then, and she remembers him demanding her to attack him.]

You asked me to, after all. But I hope it never comes to that again. I can't imagine you would ever get used to being on the receiving end of my lightning. [It's happened to him before, after all.]

There's a lot of things I'd like to not get used to.

[Her lightning was one of them. So was accidentally rolling on top of his wings in his sleep.]

[She gives him a bit of a half-smile.]

Oh? Do tell. Surely none as terrible as having a sound electrocution, and living to tell the tale.

[Stabbing people I care about for one.]

You sure you wanna hear 'em? My war stories ain't exactly for polite conversation. Call it the peril of survivin' things most men ain't supposed to.

I don't mind. I may not have stories like yours, Logan, but I think you would be surprised at what I've seen, myself.

[snikting]

I threw myself on a grenade once, during one of the wars. Back before I got the metal bones. Healing from that wasn't pleasant.

[calmbeforethe]

[She frowns for a moment. Yeah, that isn't pleasant. But she did ask, so.]

I can imagine. You do love playing the reckless hero, don't you? [She smiles teasingly.]

[snikting]

Love don't quite describe it.

[He doesn't like it at all. But he can walk away from things other people can't. And dammit, he's got that hero thing going.]
