Appointments Post

This post is for threading with Wolverine anytime and anywhere. It can be used for Action or the Ring feature on journals to get in contact with him for personal conversations.

Even after all this time, Logan hadn't filled her spot. Lately it just meant an hour break he spent at the dome. There was no scenario running, but there was Logan. Up on the second floor, where he was 'negotiating' with the vending machine for some jerky. It wasn't being cooperative.

Snikt.

"Let me guess," Rogue called up to him. "You're pretendin' it's a pinata?"

He glanced towards her moments before he was about to rip the machine open. It stopped him, for the moment, as he considered what to make of this. He could hardly call it a mistake that Rogue would just happen to walk in here. No, she was here. It was deliberate. And for the moment, he had to be an adult.

"If it was a pinata, I'd have a stick instead."

Rogue began walking up towards him. "Are ya sure about that?"

Because she wasn't. She could easily see Logan taking his claws to a pinata. "Let me give it a shot."

He frowned. The jerky wasn't that important to him. But if this is what she wanted to do... With a grunt, Logan stood aside.

"Knock yerself out."

Rogue hit the top right of screen and then bumped the left part of the machine with her hip in a purely feminine twist. Nothing happened.

"Huh. That usually works."

She kicked it. The jerky fell and Rogue nodded with satisfaction. "There we go."

He picked up the jerky and nodded. With a sarcastic mutter he thanked her with: "My hero."

"More like the vending machine's hero," she sassed. Then she took a step away, giving him an assessing look. Her lips firmed for a minute and then she nodded to herself before abruptly saying, "Let's go. You and me."

He peeled the wrapped from the jerky and considered what it was she was offering here. His eyes glanced to one of the chambers below.

"Up here? Or down there?"

We gonna talk or train?

She turned away over and spoke over her shoulder. "I think we'd make a right mess up here."

Rogue intended for them to kick each other's asses. And she was going to do her damnedest to win this time. They could talk after that.

He gave her a look over, then shrugged and made his way to the stairs.

"Hope ya been keepin' up yer trainin' in yer spare time. You'll need it."

Rogue withheld comment. She had kept up with her private training, yes, but not over the past few days -- things had been different. But she was fueled by more than one violent emotion, and she had a plan, and frankly, right now she'd welcome a little physical pain. Maybe it would be a release from the pain she couldn't excise in her heart.

She set the scene at the console and they strode into a Japanese dojo. She put her arms above her head and stretched, then dropped them and rolled her shoulders. "Claws in, gloves on?"

As he looked about the dojo, he felt an uncomfortable itch. Somehow this all seemed familiar to him and left him vaguely uncomfortable. But ultimately he paid it no mind and gave her a nod.

"The old fashioned way."

Yeah. Him, his super strength, healing, and adamantium coated skeleton and her, the crazy voices in her head, and all the anger and rage and hurt of the past few months.

Sounded fair to her.

She cracked head to the side and got into a ready stance. "Let's go."

Logan let her take the lead for the spar. Sure, she had a few inches on him, but he was all strength. Her advantage was speed. But that wasn't always enough to get the better of Logan, who had spend long enough knowing how to deal with his shortcomings. He would block most of her blows and only take a few of his own. But never aggressive. A leg sweep here and there. Punches that he always pushed. It was obvious he was holding back.

Obvious enough that he was holding back to tick Rogue off. She went for an extremely illegal and dirty move, one that would actually hurt him if it connected. "Wake up, Wolverine!"

It surprised him and he wasn't fast enough to fully block it. Painful, but not as much as it could have been. He raised an eyebrow.

"Wide awake, Stripes. But that was just nasty."

"And so is this," she said, pressing her advantage with an equally dirty move. "You'd better take me seriously."

She was close, but no cigar. This time he moved to catch her by the arm. "Ya won't like me when I'm serious."

His version of serious involved an unorthodox use of his elbow.
